Location of your business is undoubtedly one of the most important factors besides choosing a Franchise. If you have bought a good franchise and it is not visible to your customers then there is no benefit of having such an expensive Franchise. One should decide whether the products or services that you are going to sell at a franchise, are required in that area or not. For that matter, extensive research should be carried before taking any step.
After you are sure that this particular service or products have a requirement in that area, then the next step is to decide the type of location that will suit your business. There are two types of Locations, so firstly you should decide which one will be good for you. Here the two types of Franchise:
Traditional Location
Traditional locations are those locations where a building or property is bought only for the purpose of doing a business. Traditional locations have their own parking space and are expensive as compared to non-traditional ones. Opening a traditional location is generally considered ideal for your franchise. But it can have some repercussions. First and foremost it can be expensive. A traditional franchise location has its advantages in terms of creating an independent pathway for your customer and your business. It does not depend on the time of the year like non traditional franchise locations and has business blooming all throughout the year.
Non-Traditional Location
Non-traditional locations are the cost effective locations as these are usually located in the mall, airport, college building, hospital, etc. These locations require lesser staff too. It can be one of the best ways to kick start your franchise business. Although it has its list of pros and cons too. For example food franchises at college campuses can be a great franchising market but in off seasons when the students are not available, the business can take a hit. Airports have always known too be a great franchise business pathway. It does involve a large amount of paperwork but can be fruitful. Off beat locations with lower rent are always very tempting to start your own franchise business.
